the Out Of Body Pop charity art sale!

Across 2023-2034, there have been four oobp events in EartH Kitchen. Our goals are to:

a. create London’s first neuro-inclusive music event series

b. raise money for Arts Emergency, a charity that helps underpriveliged young people get into the arts

Each event had its own theme, reflected in all the sets. Each set involved one music artist (DJ or live performer) and one visual artist (painter or collagist). The music plays, the canvas gets filled up.

DM @outofbodypop on IG or email outofbodypop@gmail.com for prices, all money spent will go straight to Arts Emergency

The One by Funmi Lijadu (canvas, 12 x 16″)

The artwork is named after Infinite Snds’ selection ‘You’re The One’ by Kaytranada & Syd. ‘It was a great experience for me as an artist, making collages in an environment with live music, DJ sets, dance and a range of performances across mediums, there was a great energy in the room. I used paper, glue and other materials to create an analogue collage on canvas.’

Infinite Sounds by Murkage Dave, Lucy et co. (canvas, 12 x 16″)

April 2nd 2023; Bittersweet Beauties

Jay Z & Alicia Keys by Yungirie (canvas board, 12 x 16.5”), responding to Don Sinini’s DJ & live set

‘I started with these white rabbits facing eachother, it was just a cute image that popped up in my head because I was happy, summer was coming, but at some point I started to genuinely listen to what was going on and got more comfortable experimenting with the paints, because I’m not primarily a fine artist or anything like that, and as I got more confident trying and got more into the music, I felt very colourful.

I was seeing the dancers and they were wearing a lot of colourful things too, hence the background looking like that, and I decided to draw a dancing person with their hands in the air because of the really pure feeling of euphoria and being at peace, and freedom, the feeling of being free, that’s what I wanted to show in this piece. It’s not the best thing I’ve created in the world, but I’m really proud of it because I really got out of my comfort zone, and it was such a lovely day, it felt very comfortable and homely, and I wanted to reflect that in the image.’ – Yungirie

Whirlpool Productions by Flowa Friends (canvas board, 30 x 20”), responding to Rosy Ross’ closing DJ set

When asked what drink Flowa Friends fancied, they asked for a Gin & Tonic, whilst Rosy Ross began her set with an all time favourite; ‘Disco to Disco’ by Whirlpool Productions. Reflecting the joyous scenes of the end of the day, Flowa Friends went straight on to make a second artwork, finishing it off in time with the end of Rosy’s closing set and the wider event itself, with ‘Dance’ by Fox The Fox.

[sold] Little Dragon by Daniel Kettle (canvas, 16 x 20 ”), responding to Shivum Sharma’s DJ set

This artwork from the mysterious Daniel Kettle is named after Little Dragon, whose music got played twice in Shivum Sharma’s set, cresting with ‘In My House’ and finishing with ‘Brush The Heat’
